10 -Day Rwenzori trekking Safari
Get up close to Uganda’s tallest mountain. Trekking the Rwenzori is on the list of many people's life goals and doing it under guided tour is the safest way to go about it. The journey starts in Nyakalengija and end at the summit of Margherita which reaches heights up to 5109 meters. Take in the views of Rwenzori’s highest peaks that are permanently snow-capped . This Seven-day mountain trekking is a spectacular destination for Mountain climbing enthusiasts.
Itinerary
Day 1: Entebbe/ Kampala
Upon arrival in Entebbe you will be received by our friendly staff and transferred to your hotel in Kampala/ Entebbe. Accommodation at Aura Safaris and Mission Tours has been handpicked to ensure that our guests get the best experience and a taste of Uganda’s culture and hospitality after a long flight.

Accommodation: Entebbe - dinner and 1 night
Day 2: Rwenzori National Park
You will be picked by our guide at from your accommodation and embark on your journey to the slopes of Mountain Rwenzori National Park. check- in your hotel for over night stay.
Accommodation: Kasese- 1 night and all meals
Day 3: Nyabitaba Hut
After an early breakfast, you will picked by tour guide and then connected to Nyakalengija Trailhead which is at a height of 1648m. This is Rwenzori National Par headquarters where you will meet with ranger and porters for briefing about the hike. The hike starts at the foot of the mountain and you will cross River Mubuku, Mahoma river to Nyabitaba Hut which is about 2651 meters for overnight stay.

Day 4: John Matte Hut
After taking having breakfast, you will follow the trail to Kurt shafer Bridgewhere you will pass through a bamboo forest and slippery moss . You will pass through Nyamileju rock shelter where you will have sights of Mount Speake and Mount Stanley a couple of the peaks of Mountain Rwenzori. You will reach John Matte where you will enjoy the view of Margherita glaciers.

Accommodation: John Matte Hut 1 night
Day 5: Bujuku Hut
After taking having breakfast, you will cross the Bujuke River and cross the Bujuku Lake. where you will have beautiful views of Mout Baker, Mount Stanley and Mount Speke.You will later reach Bujuku hut where you will stay overnight.
Accommodation: Bujuku Hut 1 night
Day 6: Elena Hut
After breakfast, you will leave Bujuku hut and continue on your trail to the steep slopes western of Lake Kitandara, passing through the Groundsels gully. At the steepest section there is a ladder that leads to Elena Hut. This is the base camp for the climb to Margherita peak.

Day 7:Kitandara Hut
For those who are willing to reach Margherita peaks , you will continue on your climb to the base of the Stanley Glacier to reach the Margarita peak. The hike will take up to 7 hours depending on the weather conditions and climbing pace.After enjoying the views at Margherita, you will start your descend returning to Scott- Elliot pass with incredible views back to Bujuku lake and down to Kitandara hut for overnight stay.

Day 8: Guy Yeoman Hut
After breakfast start an ascend to he base of Mount Baker and Continent along the south side of the Mountain.Descend through the long muddy path, passing through the shelter at Bujangolo. Then descend to Guy Yeoman Hut for over night stay.
Accommodation: Kitandara Hut 1 night
Day 9: Nyakalengija
This is the last day of the trek. After breakfast , you will continue the descend down the mounatin path through the slippery and muddy path. Have lunch Nyabitaba and then proceed to Nyakalengija. Here you will meet your guide and connect to your accomodation for overnight stay and dinner.

Day 10: Entebbe
After your breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe as you view beautiful scenery along the way. You will have lunch en route thereafter proceed to Kampala where our friendly guide will drop you to Entebbe for your onward flight.
